leaving on a jet stream

as a huge meteor shower is passing the skies of london tonight, my wonderful boyfriend revealed to me why he wants to leave britain. it's not because of the bleak social prospects of this country, corrupt government or the surveillance cameras at every house and street corner. it's not for the rotten but extortionate education system, or the filthy streets.

no, it's because the sky is always overcast when there is an astronomical event happening.
