britain to join the euro?

indebted to the hilt, penniless and with no silver lining anywhere on the horizon, britain (gordon brown) is apparently thinking about joining the eurozone to dump their debts on the european central bank.
the question that does not seem to occur to the brits: does euroland even want to let them in?
