election results

my first elections in london where i was allowed to vote! i made my 3 crosses behind 3 names (that i never heard before and most likely never will hear again). westminster is a CON hold area. meaning that the conservatives have won it again, like every time since 1974. which is a little surprising given the large number of muslim labour voters in the neighbourhood. some of them i met in my local polling station, a synagogue. this must be the only non-confrontational occasion in history for muslims to enter a synagogue. which makes it the most remarkable result of yesterday's elections.

labour lost a lot of councils throughout the country, mainly to the tories. because of tony and the scandals. sounds like a 60s band - *ladies and gentlemen... we proudly present... tony & the scandals!...yeah yeah yeah!*

the bad news is that the british national party, close to the npd in germany, won seats. they propagate *a return to british values*, which i can only assume means getting pissed 4 nights in a row, taking all your money to the races, draughty houses with clashing floral patterns everywhere, and beating up the other football team's supporters.

my 3 votes remained without effect. i guess this is what voting experts call *tactical voting* - you seemingly waste your vote on a hopeless candidate to make sure the winner does not win by too high a margin. or something like that. yeah yeah yeah!
